As Subsea Global Solutions reflects on the legacy companies that shaped our identity, Miami Diver holds a privileged place in our story. Founded in 1976, Miami Diver became a leading commercial diving organization along the U.S. East Coast. Over time, it merged as an original member into what is now Subsea Global Solutions, bringing with it deep regional expertise, client relationships, and an in-house team rooted in the Florida maritime ecosystem.  

Roots and Growth

Miami Diver had deep regional roots in the Southeast and Caribbean in underwater maintenance market and developed into one of the major global players in underwater repairs. Its strategic location in Miami made it especially suited to support a growing cruise industry and vessel maintenance in Florida’s busy maritime corridors. Given the high volume of cruise traffic and commercial shipping activity in ports like Miami, Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, Tampa, and the Caribbean, the Miami Diver team often operated in high-demand, fast-turn environments.  

Miami Diver, together with Parker Diving Service on the U.S. West Coast, was part of the merger that formed Subsea Global Solutions in 2011.  

Capabilities & Service Reach

When folded into Subsea Global family, the Miami Diver heritage station brought a mature infrastructure of local support, diver-technician resources, and established client channels. Today, the Miami office functions as a principal hub for underwater services on the US eastern seaboard. Its services include:

• Underwater inspections and class surveys

• Thruster installation/removal and repairs

• Propeller straightening and repairs

• Shaft seal repair and replacement

• Permanent hull repairs

• Biofouling management

• Underwater ship maintenance including propeller polishing

• In-situ welding and specialized technical repairs  

Moreover, Miami serves as a critical base given its proximity to major cruise homeports in South Florida.  

Legacy & Integration

By merging with Miami Diver, Subsea Global Solutions inherited not just technical capability, but also regional reputation and relationships. The integration helped solidify our U.S. East Coast presence and allowed us to scale our global footprint more seamlessly. Today, the “Miami Diver” legacy lives on in the office’s culture, responsiveness, and depth of operational knowledge in the region.
