Bilge Keel Repair on FPSO
Former tanker length 274-meter, 132,361 Gross Tonnage
During the conversation from a tanker to an FPSO, the bilge keel was modified.
Design flaws together with poor workmanship caused the bilge keel to fracture during operation in several locations.
Subsea Global Solutions worked together with the Owner and Class to perform permanent underwater ‘class A’ wet welding repairs on the fractures, without interrupting the production operations.
The weld repairs still perform after more four years in service exposed to high hydrodynamic forces.
