Welding Training & Certifications

At Subsea Global Solutions, we are committed to advancing the technical expertise of our diving teams through comprehensive underwater welding training.

To meet the growing global demand for class-approved underwater weld repairs, Subsea Global Solutions hosts multiple annual underwater wet welding courses—two in Long Beach (introductory and advanced) and one in South Korea for our teams across Australia, Singapore, South Korea, and Europe.

Our Advanced Underwater Welding Training Course, held at our Long Beach training center is a 10-day program designed to refine practical skills and qualify participants for new joint geometries and welding positions. The course also serves as a requalification for existing certifications, ensuring compliance with current industry standards and class requirements.

During the training process, representatives from ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), DNV (Det Norske Veritas), and LR (Lloyd’s Register) witness the welding process and the visual and destructive testing of plates, confirming compliance with the Class A acceptance criteria of AWS D3.6M: Underwater Welding Code.

These programs support both beginner and experienced welder divers, expanding our certified underwater welder team and ensuring our professionals maintain the highest possible standards of underwater welding excellence worldwide.
