Steven Berard brings 19 years of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) experience within the energy-oil and gas sector, most recently serving as Senior HSE Advisor, Corporate within Transocean.
Throughout his career, Steven has supported high-risk onshore / offshore operations and global organizations by strengthening QHSE management systems, regulatory compliance, operational risk management, and performance. Steven’s broader experience includes leadership roles with Vantage International Drilling, PacificDrilling, and NCS SubSea, supporting ultra-deepwater drillships and high-specification jack-ups while working closely with major global energy operators.
His experience spans HSE management systems, OSHA and international regulatory compliance, incident investigation and root cause analysis, emergency response, ISO audit readiness, and operational risk management. He has also supported organizations through significant transitions and acquisitions, helping maintain governance, consistency, and operational discipline throughout periods of change.
A strong advocate for continuous learning and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)principles, Steven focuses on understanding how work is actually performed and using that insight to improve systems, strengthen frontline decision-making, and reduce operational exposure. He combines technical QHSE expertise with a practical, relationship-driven leadership approach focused on building capability and helping teams confidently apply safety and risk principles inthe field.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of California,Merced, along with several professional safety and environmental credentials from Texas A&M University (TEEX) Engineering and the OSHA Academy/U.S. Department of Labor.
